Ascension Fathers Club
The Ascension Fathers Club was organized in November, 1998. The initial intention for forming the group was, and still is, to provide periodic meeting times when the Dads of our school age children can meet and get to know each other. Many friendships have been formed with the assistance of the monthly “meetings”. Meeting times have been for watching a Monday Night Football game, playing cards or just sitting around enjoying snacks and talking.
In addition to our social charter, the group has focused its effort on a single, large-scale annual fundraising event known as the Mouse Race Auction. This event is structured as a Huge Party with the center of attention being focused around Mouse Races. In addition, there are numerous games and possibilities for bidding on silent and oral auction items. The proceeds from this event assist in funding our School’s Technology Fund. This money has been used to provide desktop and laptop computers as well as the school’s network infrastructure needed to support our computer lab classes as well as project research in the library or for a specific class. In addition, many administrative functions have become automated due to the placement of computers in the office and individual class rooms. Our children and their teachers also have access to scanning, printing, digital photo and projection equipment, as well as current, up-to-date software solutions from Microsoft and others.
Donations are always needed in order to make this event successful. Please consider making a donation.
All of our School Dads are already considered members of the Ascension School Fathers Club. All you have to do is get involved. To find out more or simply to be added to the Fathers Club email distribution list for meeting reminders and relevant information, just email the Fathers Club President.
